H E L L O
This week I really wanted to share one of my favorite unhealthy treats, while it’s still officially winter time.
And it’s so worth trying this one yourself.
Before I went vegan, I used to buy packets of instant white chocolate hot chocolate pretty regularly. Unfortunately, those don’t exist without powdered milk not where I live anyway Therefore I decided to make my own, dairy-free style!
Probably a lot better for you than those packets, to be fair.
This is still not going to give you a bikini body or anything, if that’s what you’re looking for.
But hey! It’s still winter like I said, so lets just enjoy the sweet stuff a little longer.
You will need:
50g of Rice Milk white chocolate
50 Ml of Vanilla Soy milk
150 ml of Cashew milk (any milk will do, full vanilla is just too sweet for me)
About a teaspoon of cocoa powder (optional)
(I don’t add sugar, but you could)
And a mug. Obviously.
I start by filling about half of my mug with cashew milk.
Then I add the vanilla soy milk. Sometimes I’ll add slightly more of this milk, depending on how sweet I want the hot chocolate to be.
Next, I add a teaspoon of cocoa powder because I love the chocolate-y flavor it gives the drink.
Finally, the CHOCOLATE
I’ll add around 2,5 or three rows of the bar, which is about 8-9 squares or roughly 50 grams.
This brand of ricemilk chocolate isn’t particularly sweet, so I’ll usually add 9 squares to really get the flavor.
Do excuse my messy microwave.
I’ll add half first, then microwave for 30 seconds and add the rest after.
I microwave for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds so the chocolate doesn’t burn on the bottom of the mug.
Leftover chocolate can be used for… snacking or something
Stirr it up well, and you’re done!
Even better topped with some mini marshmallows, but those aren’t available near me yet!
Soy whipped cream is also pretty good, but I can’t keep that in my house.
I’ll devour the entire can within a day.
It’s so good though.
My awesome HUGE mug is from TJ Maxx, and I’m obsessed with it.
Probably not the best to drink your coffee out of, as I got pretty jittery the last time I did.
Not good.
So anyway, I hope you enjoyed that short and sweet post.
I generally eat pretty healthily, but just like everyone else I enjoy having my indulgances every once in a while.
For me, stuff like this is what makes being a vegan sustainable for life.
See you again soon!
Love,
Lizz
