H E L L O
And welcome back!
This post is one I thought about writing for a while, but I wasn’t sure how to address the subject. Usually when I tell people I am a vegan which I very rarely do, I get a negative and sometimes even aggressive response.
Why?
Because I might have been vegan in my diet for a while, I do own a few leather items. Mostly shoes, but still. I absolutely adore fashion and I’m all for developing your own sense of style, just not when it means taking the life of an innocent being in the process.
I’ve therefore made the decision to no longer wear or buy products that use or abuse animals in the production process. I know it’s going to take some getting used to and that it won’t be easy, but I believe it will only affect my style for the better.
Now I’m not going to get all preachy and tell you to do the same, that’s not my intention at all! I’ve never been one to tell someone how to live their life, and I’m not about to start.
This blog will stay as it was, but I want to take on the challenge to show people you can still enjoy fashion without using products derived from animals.
As for the leather items I own?
They will no longer be featured on here.
(That includes my absolute favorite Nike shoes by the way. I cried a little.)
So with that off my chest, I decided to rock my awesome Team Vegan sweatshirt today!
A gift from my sister!
She shares mostly vegan recipes on her blog HealthyNotSkinny, if you’re interested in the type of things I eat 😉
The vegan challenge is a website set up by volunteers with a shared passion for veganism. Every year they host a free thirty day challenge to go vegan for the month of October. This year they came out with merchandise as a promotion!
